Enterprise Storage Sales Representative

IBM Storwize is seeking an Enterprise Storage Sales Representative candidate to cover the U.S. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of attaining and surpassing assigned revenue targets. Candidates should know how to penetrate medium to large enterprise accounts and sell to "C" level clients while supporting/selling thru channel/VAR partners. They should have a solid understanding in the storage software, appliance or hardware market with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate the business value back to clients.

Candidates with a strong storage sales background from previous experience with storage companies or VARs and with a focus on storage software solutions are ideal.

Sales Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct yourself in a way that best represents the company in a positive fashion. Adhering to the highest ethical standards with the customers best interest in mind
  • Efficiently and effectively organize and manage a large territory
  • Optimize limited resource to drive revenue
  • Ability to work with partners and provide the instruction and leadership to foster profitable relationships
  • Understand the clients business problems, their impact across the organization and develop a realistic total cost of ownership proposition
  • Ability to accurately understand the entire buying process, the timelines and signatures required.
  • Accurately update the status of an opportunity sales cycle on a weekly basis.
  • Clearly, professionally and effectively communicate issues to other groups in the organization
  • With managements involvement develop a business plan to ensure success in attaining revenue goals
  • Ability to confidently and professionally deliver the company message to partners and prospects.

Desired Experience:

Sales Engineer – U.S.

IBM Storwize is seeking a Sales Engineer candidate to cover the U.S. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of network attached storage (NAS) concepts as well as practical experience with the major NAS vendors' products and related features. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the CIFS and NFS protocols, and have experience with Windows, Unix and Linux client operating systems. A broad understanding of general storage related concepts, as well as any hands-on Fibre Channel and iSCSI experience are a plus. Excellent presentation and people skills are required – the position requires frequent customer interaction.

Sales Engineer Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales technical support to the IBM Storwize sales team – the primary role of the SE is to assist the account team in driving sales revenue
  • Make technical sales presentations to prospective IBM Storwize customers
  • Successfully differentiate for prospective customers the advantages of the IBM Storwize optimization solution over other competing technologies
  • Assist the account team in identifying and qualifying customer opportunities
  • Successfully plan, deploy and manage customer product evaluations
  • Ensure a positive customer experience
  • Travel is required

Desired Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years acting in a pre-sales position in the storage, server or networking industry
  • Hands-on experience working with at least one major NAS vendor's products
  • Working knowledge of IP networking and proficiency in related troubleshooting
  • Experience working with current storage optimization product offerings or technologies is a plus
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred

Technical Support Engineer

Job Location: Boston, USA

Job Summary: Will troubleshoot and resolve problems for IBM Storwize customers in a small support center environment. Will develop and maintain good working relationships with the established customer base in line with company values and expected behaviors. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answer live incoming phone calls as well as emails and respond to customer inquiry to troubleshoot, manage and resolve customer issues.
  • Assume ownership and responsibility of customer issues and work with engineering as required to drive to resolution.
  • Monitor automated product alert emails and act on them.
  • Effectively escalate deeper technical issues to Engineering.
  • Assist customers with the upgrade process.
  • Assist customers with standard storage systems configuration.
  • Work with 3rd party service providers in the process of analyzing and resolving customer issues.

Required Skills: The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of relevant experience. The candidate must be highly focused on quality and on providing exceptional service to our customers and partners. Candidate must also have excellent written / verbal, communication skills. The successful person will be a team player, highly organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Positive and customer-oriented attitude above all else.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced technical support environment.

Technical Skills: As many as possible of the below:

  • Networking. Switching, Routing and a wide knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
  • High End Data Storage Systems.
  • Unix / Linux System Administration.
  • NAS Systems (Netapp / EMC.)
  • Knowledge and experience in SAN and IPSAN.

Individual must be independent, highly motivated, and a self starter.
